The Football Association of Finland and the University of Jyväskylä are strengthening their research cooperation to develop football and futsal. Professor of Practice Mihaly Szerovay will remain in his position until the end of 2028.

Eero Savolainen studied the physical performance of female football players in Finland. The research showed that for players to succeed in the increasingly tough international competition, they need a high level of physical performance.

This multidisciplinary international conference will bring together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the growing body of research on the effects of football and other team sports on health and well-being.

In January 2025, Jyväskylä will host the multidisciplinary Football is Medicine conference.
