I work as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education in University of Jyväskylä in the ULearn profiling area. My research focuses on educational support practices especially for reading, math and behavioral problems. In addition, I focus on studying motivational and socioemotional factors contributing to learning, such as learning related self-beliefs (self-efficacy) and emotions. I work in the Centre of Excellence in Learning Dynamics and Intervention Research (Interlearn, University of Jyväskylä & University of Turku, interlearn.fi) where I am responsible especially of the intervention studies. My aim is to gain a better understanding of factors contributing to the students responsiveness to support and ways to develop novel intervention practices for schools.
