Biography

Saima Ritonummi is a grant-funded Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Information Technology, University of Jyväskylä, and a member of the IT & Human Behavior research group. She received her doctoral degree in Information Systems from the University of Jyväskylä in 2025.

Her research has received external funding from the Finnish Work Environment Fund and the Foundation for Economic Education. In 2024, she was selected for the doctoral consortium of the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). Her work has been published in outlets such as AIS Transactions on Human-Computer Interaction, Journal of Systems and Software, Journal of Workplace Learning, and the proceedings of the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS).

Research interests

Her research examines work experiences in technology-intensive knowledge work. In particular, she has studied flow experiences and technostress in the context of software development.

The current research project, funded by the Finnish Work Environment Fund, examines work engagement through flow experiences and temporality using qualitative methods, with the aim of supporting focused work and enhancing the meaningfulness of work, while also shedding light on workload management and the challenges of digital work.
