Research group description

How does the use of technology impact humans? How do humans shape technology?

We are on a quest to understand human-technology relationships. Our research focuses on personal and organizational use of technology and its impacts; work practices, power and organizing; working with AI and robots; user/consumer behavior; technostress and coping; flow; children’s and adolescents’ use of technology; and digital games. We employ both qualitative and quantitative methods, and we also conduct literature reviews and conceptual studies.

Our ongoing multiyear research projects are funded by the Research Council of Finland, the Emil Aaltonen Foundation, and the Foundation for Economic Education. We are also engaged in teaching through various courses and supervision at the Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral levels.

Our work is multidisciplinary – the primary field of our contributions is information systems.
