I am Professor of Social and Public Policy and Head of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy at the University of Jyväskylä. My research examines the digitalisation of people’s everyday lives, well-being, and society, with a particular focus on ageing, life course, genegeration , inclusion, and digital inequalities. I currently lead the research team of the Future of Care Work (CAREFUTURE) project and collaborate extensively with national and international researchers, public-sector organisations, and civil society organisations. My expertise encompasses digitalisation, ageing, welfare services, digital inclusion, the adoption of new technologies, and social policy research more broadly. I have previously held visiting researcher positions at the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia and the University of Udine in Italy.
My research focuses on the new societal challenges created by digitalization, particularly issues related to inequalities and wellbeing. I examine how digitalization shapes social relationships, the everyday lives of older adults, and their use of services. My work also explores how digital technologies transform care practices and working conditions in care of older people.
