Freedom of Teaching Under Pressure: Challenges to Higher Education Curricula

The research project investigates the current state of freedom in teaching, and what challenges or threats it faces. This is approached from the perspective of curriculum research and sociology of education (Bernstein, 2000). The primary focus is on how curriculum knowledge and teaching are steered, restricted, or enabled, and what kind of experience different actors - university and faculty management and individual teachers - have of freedom.
