IJDFIN-Study
Table of contents
Project description
This four-year study (IJDFIN) investigates work intensification and the resulting new demands of work, along with their influence on employee well-being and performance.
The project also explores whether certain self-regulatory resources—such as life management strategies, job crafting, and recovery from work—support employees in managing these newly demanding work conditions. We examine these phenomena and their interrelations using both quantitative and qualitative research approaches, including longitudinal studies targeting employees across various sectors and research within different units of a large healthcare organization.
Additionally, we investigate potential differences between age and occupational groups.
The findings can be applied in stress intervention programs, which may be tailored to meet the needs of different age and occupational groups. The project was carried out as a consortium between Tampere University and the University of Jyväskylä from 2017 to 2022 (Academy of Finland), and continued as part of the Changing Work research initiative at the University of Jyväskylä until 2023.
