In his doctoral dissertation, Senior Specialist at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and M.Sc. (Econ) Jarno Turunen investigated the effects of shift work characteristics on the sickness absence of shift workers.

This dissertation explores rural communities that host asylum seekers. The central research question asks: "What are the meanings of place and locality in rural areas during the establishment and operation of a reception center?"
