The University of Jyväskylä made a good academic result again in 2019

Contact teaching at the University of Jyväskylä and teaching practice at the Teacher Training School (Normaalikoulu) will be suspended from 16 March 2020 to 22 March 2020.

Ylistö Campus at the Faculty of Mathematics and Science moves immediately to remote working and teaching in accordance with the instructions issued by the University.

In the next autumn term, teaching at JYU will start on 31 August and the orientation week for first-year students will start on 24 August 2020. Both the orientation of new students and teaching will start one week earlier than last year.

On 12 March, the Finnish Government has specified its instructions related to the coronavirus pandemic.

Research in education at the University of Jyväskylä was on the top 100 list of the QS World University Rankings by Subject. Education was positioned 51–100, which is improvement from the previous year.
