How to apply to Jyväskylä Summer School

Apply to the Jyväskylä Summer School for a fun time learning in an international environment! The Summer School is organized by the Faculty of Mathematics and Science and the Faculty of Information Technology.

Who can apply to summer school in STEM?

All advanced Bachelor’s students, Master’s students, PhD students and post-docs from the field of Mathematics and Science and Information Technology are invited to apply to the Jyväskylä Summer School. The Summer School offers courses in various fields of Science and Information Technology. You are expected to have basic knowledge from the field. All courses are taught in English, and sufficient English language competence is needed in order to be able to follow university-level teaching.
 

Application process

JYU students can still register for courses with available spots. Please review the course descriptions to find out which courses have open spaces.

The application period for the Summer School took place 1 March – 4 May. All applicants will be informed about admissions in late May. Further information on practicalities (e.g. travel and accommodation) will be sent to the accepted students.

  • Students enrolled at the University of Jyväskylä apply by signing up for the courses in SisuPlease check the course descriptions and click on the course code to access Sisu registration.

Participation costs and financial support

Participation in the Summer School courses is free of charge. Students are responsible for covering their own meals, accommodation and travel costs as well as possible visa costs. Small participation fees may be collected for individual events of the social programme. 

The Summer School is not able to grant any financial support for students. In order to ensure your participation, we recommend you take steps to secure your own funding for example by turning to your home institution or other local sources for financial aid.
