Important information for graduates
Degree Certificate Service
After graduation, you will receive a link to the Atomi certification service in your primary email address registered in Sisu. The link is personal, and you can use it to download your certificate.
Remember to save your certificate because the download link is valid only for 61 days after your graduation date. It is recommended to save your certificate in multiple locations. Each saved certificate is an official copy of your degree certificate. You can change the name of the degree certificate file, but you cannot make any other changes to it, such as deleting pages or adding/removing text, as it will break its security and the certificate will no longer be official.
Digital degree certificates awarded by University of Jyväskylä meet the highest EU level requirements. You can make copies of the file and keep an electronic signature on the copies. The signature is displayed through signature in the PDF file. In addition, the authenticity of the signature can be verified using the Digital and Population Data Services Agency's "Inspect PDF Document" service "Fineid - Check the PDF document or -palvelulla Fineid - Tarkasta PDF-asiakirja tai JYU's website The verification of electronic documents.
Student can also log in to the Atomi certificate service using their own University of Jyväskylä's username, which is valid for 61 days after graduation. Acquiring electronic degree certificates requires multi-factor authentication. Read more and activate MFA!
Expiry of user credentials
Your user ID will be deactivated after graduation. Please make sure to save your messages, files, and data well in advance.
- The user ID expires when the study right ends. The study right ends either upon graduation or because the annual registration for attendance or absence has not been made.
- A student’s user ID expires 61 days after the study right ends.
- You can check the validity of your user ID from the Affiliations tab in the OMA Account Self Service at account.jyu.fi.
- A degree student can register as an alumni student upon graduation, in which case the validity of the user credentials will continue until the end of the alumni study right.
- When your user ID expires, associated university services connected to it, for example, your email address and cloud services, such as Google Drive and OneDrive, will also close. Forwarding email from the closed email address or setting up an automatic response is not possible.
- Note! The content of the email box is removed 180 days after the expiry of the user account and the content of the user ID home directory is erased after a year from the expiry.
- Make sure you save the messages and files you need from e-mail, network drives, cloud services and learning environments to your own devices or available cloud services well before your user ID expires.
- The student user licences associated with your student status expire when your studies are finished.
