Japanese Language Proficiency Test to be held at the University of Jyväskylä
The test is organised in Finland by the Centre for Multilingual Academic Communication (Movi) at the University of Jyväskylä in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan. At the initiative of Ambassador Takashi Okada, the test will be held in Jyväskylä from 2026 onwards. Previously, it was held in Helsinki.
In some countries, the test is arranged twice a year, in July and December, but in Finland it is offered only in December. The December test takes place on the first Sunday of the month, which this year falls on 6 December 2026. Around 200 participants are expected to take the test.
Registration for the test takes place online through the University of Jyväskylä’s website, and the registration period is from August to September.
