Biography

I'm an Academy Research Fellow and Marie Sklodowska Curie postdoctoral fellow conducting research on how the interaction between the brain and body contribute to our cognition, affective states and mental wellbeing. I do lab-based and naturalistic experiments combining neuroimaging, brain stimulation, and extensive physiological recordings.

Before starting in Jyväskylä I completed my PhD at Maastricht University and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris.

Research interests

My research focuses on brain-body interactions from various vantage points. I study how signals originating from the viscera influence brain signals, cognition, and emotion. For example, how does the phase of the visceral rhythms impact excitability fluctuations in the brain, or can the way our brain responds to heartbeats influence our emotional feelings?
