Biography

I work as a doctoral researcher in the department of Music, Art and Culture Studies. I will soon graduate from Roiha Institute and become a clinically trained music therapist. My background is in the field of education (MA). I am especially interested in therapeutic change and turning points in music therapy procersses. My other interests include for example stroke rehabilitation and learning difficulties. I have previously worked for example as a project researcher in EarlyMath, CRITICAL and First Steps studies ja and as a project manager in LUKILOKI in-service teacher training project.

Research interests

I study therapeutic change in the therapy processes of working-age people with depression related disorders (depression, anxiety, work-related stress, burn-out). The aim of my mixed-method PhD study is to deepen the understanding of therapeutic change and underlying mechanisms that affect one’s wellbeing and functioning. My study is a part of the Centre of Excellence in Music, Mind, Body and Brain (MMBB).
