Several commercial email service providers have recently introduced more advanced email sender authentication technologies. As a result, some emails sent by the university may not have reached recipients using certain external email services.

The issue primarily affected services such as Gmail and Hotmail/Outlook.com, where email security checks either blocked the messages or redirected them to spam folders.

Impact

  • Emails sent by the university may not have been delivered to recipients.
  • The issue may have affected both personal messages and automated system notifications.
  • Recipients may not have received any notification that a message had been blocked.

The issue has now been resolved, and email delivery is operating normally. The IT administration is currently investigating options for resending messages that were not successfully delivered.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Enhanced email security measures are important for ensuring reliable and secure email delivery, but unfortunately, changes of this nature can occasionally lead to message delivery issues between different email service providers.
