Vesna Kovač and Ivana Miočić will present their analytical report published by the European Commission's Expert Network on Economics and Sociology of Education and Training (ENESET).
The report identifies key challenges that have hindered effective crisis responses and introduces an adaptable model for crisis leadership in education, covering:
• Core values: equity, safety, trust, transparency and solidarity
• Phases of crisis leadership: anticipation, preparation, response, recovery and learning
• Leadership strategies that can be adapted to the diverse contexts of early childhood education and care (ECEC), schools, and vocational education and training (VET) institutions.

About the Speakers
Vesna Kovač is a professor at the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Education. She is the Head of the Postgraduate Specialist Study for School Principals and Chair of the ENIRDELM Network. Her recent research focuses on local educational policy, instructional leadership, and the long-term effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on educational institutions and staff.
Ivana Miočić is an assistant professor at the Department of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Rijeka (Croatia). She is the co-author of several scientific monographs and research papers, focusing on higher education, childhood history, the European dimension in education, and education in times of crisis. In this latter field, she has participated in several projects examining the impact of crises on the Croatian educational system.
