The summer holiday season affects the university’s services – please note the limited service hours
Digital Services
The Digital Services Helpdesk on the third floor of the Lähde building will be open during the summer as follows:
- The service desk is open on weekdays from 10:00–14:00 until Friday, 10 July.
- The service desk is closed from 13 to 31 July.
When the service desk is closed, support is available via the HelpJYU service portal: IT issue support or other technical support. You can also reach the service desk by phone at +358 29 441 8030 as follows:
- Until 10 July, weekdays from 9:00 to 15:00
- From 13 to 31 July, weekdays from 10:00 to 14:00
- Normal service hours will resume from 3 August.
Digital Services’ on-call assistance is available in the event of major or critical disruptions in the evenings (17:00–21:00) and on weekends (9:00–17:00) throughout the summer at +358 50 5527 222.
Video and studio support, as well as media production services, are closed from 17 June to 2 August. During this period, response times for video-related support requests may be longer than usual, and phone support may not be available. If you expect to need video services during this period, such as live Moniviestin streams, please contact video support well in advance before the summer break. Video publishing and editing requests will mainly be processed after the summer closure. The Moniviestin platform, Zoom meetings and other self-service video tools can be used as normal.
AV support for teaching spaces and meeting rooms on campus is closed from 19 June to 19 July. In urgent cases, please submit a support request via the HelpJYU service portal.
Student and Academic Services
The Student Service Desk
The Student Service Desk is open throughout the summer, but response times may be slightly longer than usual due to the holiday season. More detailed information on the opening hours of the Student Service Desk and Sisu support can be found on our website’s contact pages.
The Continuous Learning Services
Continuous Learning Services are open throughout the summer, but response times may be longer than usual due to the holiday season. Recognition of prior learning (AHOT) applications for the Open University are not processed in July. Contact details are available on our website on the Continuous Learning Services contact page.
Degree Education Services
Degree Education Services experience a peak period in June–July due to graduation processing, which may result in longer response times. After the peak period, the team will be on summer leave from the second week of July, during which services are very limited. Normal service levels resume in mid-August. Doctoral Education Services
The Support for Doctoral Studies team is on leave from 1 to 30 July. Messages will be answered after the team returns. Response times may still be longer than usual in early August.
Admission Services
Admission Services for both domestic and international applicants are available throughout the summer, but response times may be longer than usual due to the holiday season. Questions related to student admissions for spring and summer are prioritised and are typically answered within a few days. More information is available on the Admission Services contact page.
Support Services for Internationalisation
Faculty international coordinators are mainly on leave during July. Due to the summer holiday season, response times to messages may be slightly longer than usual. Between 22 June and 7 August, staff are asked to direct inquiries to the faculty international coordinators centrally to faculties-international@jyu.fi, through which the team can process requests during the summer.
International Office
International Services are available throughout the summer for outgoing and incoming exchange students as well as international degree students. Response times may be longer than usual due to the holiday season. Services related to staff mobility are very limited, especially during June and July. Statistics Advisory
The university’s statistical advisory services are not available from 29 June to 31 July. HelpJYU service requests submitted during this period will be answered starting from 3 August.
