Biography

I am an Assistant Professor of Sport Pedagogy (Tenure Track). My work focuses on adapted physical activity, with an emphasis on equal opportunities for movement, physical functioning, and holistic well-being. Within the faculty, I am involved in various research, development, and educational projects aimed at promoting the physical functioning, activity, and overall well-being of people of different ages. Additionally, I am responsible for the national development and coordination of the Move! Physical Functioning Monitoring and Feedback System, in collaboration with the national education and health authorities.

Research interests

I study, among other topics, children’s and adolescents’ physical functioning, motor skills, physically active lifestyles, and the teaching and learning of physical education in school contexts. My research emphasizes perspectives from adapted physical activity, particularly focusing on equitable opportunities for children and young people to participate in physical activity and to develop their physical functioning and wellbeing. I serve as one of the leaders of the Sport Pedagogy Research Hub together with other professors in the field.

The main themes of my research include:

  • children’s and adolescents’ physical activity and physical functioning
  • development of motor competence and movement skills
  • school-based physical activity and physical functioning interventions
  • pedagogy of physical education and teacher education
  • inclusive physical education and adapted physical activity
  • equity in physical functioning, physical activity, and wellbeing
