The event also provided a comprehensive overview of the university’s current and future collaborations with companies. The event attracted a record-breaking 1,065 participants.

Professor Fabien Cougnon studies how molecules self-assemble into complex structures and how these systems can be harnessed to develop future materials and technologies. He has been appointed professor of organic chemistry and supramolecular chemistry.

A project to renovate the laboratory facilities of the Department of Chemistry has now been completed. The project was a technically demanding that combined the high quality and safety requirements of research environments with the needs of users.

The continuity of the Summer School reflects a commitment to high-quality teaching, multidisciplinary approaches, and the long-term development of scientific knowledge. Jyväskylä Summer School celebrates its 35th anniversary.

Roope Suvinen and co-workers developed a new bis(ligand) based on cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes that can bind to metal centres at more than one point. Suvinen defends his doctoral dissertation 26.6.2026.
