Research group description

New Technologies, Ageing and Care is a multidisciplinary research group led by Professor Sakari Taipale. It is part of the Centre of Excellence in Research on Ageing and Care, funded by the Research Council of Finland between 2018 and 2025. The group investigates the embeddedness of new digital technologies in the daily lives of older adults and technology-related changes in care of for older people . In addition to providing empirically based knowledge on the digitalisation of ageing and care work, the group works on new concepts and applies cutting-edge research methods to take research on ageing and technology to the next level. Members of the research group represent a range of disciplines, from social policy and anthropology to cognitive science and IT education.
