AI and future skills
AI and Future Skills
Research group description
Our aim is to support teachers in guiding students in the ethical use of AI and the development of future and working life skills. Our work is informed by the latest research, practical experience, and feedback from the university community on the training and support it needs. For example, we draw on recommendations and frameworks developed by UNESCO, the OECD and the EU when preparing guidelines and providing training for teachers.
The group’s members work in a variety of teaching and specialist roles across the University of Jyväskylä. Our work forms part of the University’s strategic development programme for education.
We are engaged in wide-ranging, pioneering efforts to develop AI competence across the university community, and are proud to be leading the way in many areas.
Our research covers such topics as:
- Students’ AI literacy
- Teachers’ motivation to use AI
- The use of AI from a sustainability perspective
- Future and working-life skills
We provide training for university teachers on topics including:
