Finnish-language Christmas tradition originates from University of Jyväskylä campus Seminaarinmäki

Christmas traditions, decorations, carols, as well as decorated Christmas trees gradually made their way from the Christmas celebrations in primary schools to the Christmas festivities in Finnish homes.

The traditions are visible still today in the Finnish annual celebration culture.

JYU and Folkhälsan enhance research cooperation in the fields of ageing and public health

The University of Jyväskylä and Folkhälsan have signed a three-year agreement to strengthen research in public health and ageing. This collaboration will strengthen the impact of research in Finland and internationally.

Transforming athletic passion into responsible sports leadership

Joaquín Mones Pritsch from Uruguay is studuing in the the Master's Degree programme in Responsible Management and Business of Sport. Since there were no advanced studies available in his field in Uruguay, he searched for opportunities abroad and ended up in Jyväskylä.
